Aeroflot-Cargo Q1 performance

Aeroflot-Cargo operational result of three months of year 2009 is reflecting decreasing trend of cargo industry. From January to March 2009 cargo and passenger fleet carried 21 582 tons which made 64.9 per cent of the same period of the last year. Aeroflot-Cargo own fleet uplifted 1348 tons in January (37.9 % of January 2008). Another 1776 tons were carried in February (38.6 %) and 3358.1 tons in March (58 %). In first three months Aeroflot-Cargo freighters carried 6482 tons or 46 per cent of volumes carried last year.

It is worth mentioning that this comparison is not absolutely correct as airline operated different aircraft type in year 2008. (Four DC-10-40F and two Boeing-737F in 2008 and three MD-11F in 2009). Nevertheless given results reflects main market trends.

Passenger fleet uplifted 4273 tons in January 2009 (77.5 percent of the same period of the last year). 4756 tons (74.7%) were carried in February and 6071 tons (83.9%) were carried in March. 15100 tons were carried on Aeroflot passenger flights during Quarter 1 of the year or 78 per cent of volumes carried during the same period of year 2008.
The picture of volume shares looks as follows: 62% - 59.5% - 71% of the last year results. We also need to say that besides volume decrease we also face revenue figures change. Key markets yield has decreased by 24 %.

In view of these circumstances airline management are insisting of strict compliance of our partners and agents to current sales agreements with Aeroflot-Cargo – proper reporting  and timely funds transfer. Airline management will strongly recommend our agents to fully meet block space agreement quota and conditions.

Sincerely yours,
Aeroflot-Cargo management team
